A Freedom Proclamation
We recently hosted an event in North Dallas we titled the Freedom Proclamation Breakfast. It was so good to share about Stronger with a new group of people, but also to connect with partners who have been with us for many years.
What came as a surprise though, was for this breakfast to become a time for healing for one of our guests. One of our guest speakers, Sarah, shared about her abuse publicly for the first time ever. She was visibly in tears, and I am so proud to say the audience stepped up and gave their support and encouragement as she shared her story. It was truly a time of healing.
This is why I am writing to you today. There are so many men and women like Sarah, who have been abused and hurting for so long without getting the healing they need to truly be able to reclaim what abuse took away.
Because of your prayers and generosity, we have been able to help many. But there is so much more to be done.
As we move into 2018, we are laser-focused to help survivors reclaim what abuse took away by
- creating opportunities for them to feel seen, heard, and understood,
- equipping more small group leaders,
- expanding art to help transform trauma, and
- offering more professional training and resources.
Domestic Violence is at the forefront of our society today, and there is no better time than now to take a stand and make real changes that will save real lives. Can I count on your help in 2018?
If so, please help us end this year strong by making your year-end gift today. Thank you so much for your support. We are in this together.
